- Colorado Preschool
- Children with Special Needs
Head Start is a federal program designed to meet the needs of three and four year old children and families of low income. This comprehensive program works both with children and families to promote social competence and remove barriers to success. The Early Childhood Program is allotted 139 slots for children who qualify for Head Start.
The Colorado Preschool Program (CPP) is a state funded program designed to provide children who are at risk for school failure with a preschool experience. Children eligible for this program are served either at district early childhood centers or at preschool centers in our community. The program currently has 180 slots for children who qualify for CPP.
The school district is responsible for providing special education services to all children who are identified with a disability as they turn three. Children with a wide range of disabilities receive services from speech and language specialists, occupational therapists, and early childhood special educators. Children enter this program throughout the year as they turn three.
